How the Grade Predictor Works

To calculate the exact average grade point required in your remaining semesters, we use a simple weighted average formula:

Required GP = (Target CGPA × Total Credits - Current CGPA × Completed Credits) / Remaining Credits

Where Total Credits = Completed Credits + Remaining Credits

Example Calculation

  • Current CGPA: 7.5
  • Credits completed: 120
  • Target CGPA: 8.0
  • Remaining credits: 48

Required GP = (8.0 × 168 - 7.5 × 120) / 48

Required GP = (1344 - 900) / 48

Required GP = 444 / 48 = 9.25

You would need an average grade point of 9.25, which means scoring A+ in most courses.

Tips for Improving Your CGPA

  1. Focus on high-credit courses: Courses with higher credits have a proportionally larger impact on your CGPA. Prioritize studying for a 4-credit course over a 1-credit lab.
  2. Target realistic improvements: Prioritize courses where you have genuine room for improvement and can realistically score higher grades.
  3. Consider grade replacement: If your university allows it, retaking failed or low-grade courses is often the fastest way to boost your CGPA because the old grade is replaced entirely.
  4. Balance your workload: Spread difficult courses evenly across your remaining semesters to maintain consistent performance and avoid burnout.
